July 2010
17th and 18th July 2010 - Mayor Newham's Town Show (Newham Carnival)
When most people think of Eastenders they think of a miserable bunch who appear on TV four times each week to keep the rest of Britain happy by being relieved that they do not live in Walford! When we think of Eastenders we think of the happy crowd who flock to Central Park, East Ham each year to enjoy two days of entertainment at the Mayor of Newham's Carnival! With members of each and every community in East London, this is a fabulous festival and a joy to be part of. Opens 12 noon to 8 pm.
This is one of the many local festivals we attend and provide a full fairground to add to music and dance, plus whilst much of the entertainment at local authority events has to be subsidised by the local council, we actually raise funds for the events and make a financial contribution!
That is why we are the leading supplier of fairground equipment at local authority galas and fundays in and around Britain, and why you should consider us as your first call for your function.
3rd and 4th July 2010 - Mela Festival at Hindu Temple in Neasden
Neasden Hindu Temple has quite rightly been described as a Modern Wonder of the World. Shining white and bright in the north London sky this is a magnificent celebration of an ancient religion and a focal point for multi cultural and multi racial understanding. Carnival Funfairs are proud that we were selected to provide a fair for the Temple’s Annual Festival and have been participating in their superbly managed community event for many years. This completes the three events we hold at the end of July, and whilst you may not be able to attend the festival we urge you, next time you are driving around the North Circular Road, to follow the signs and take a short detour to see this wonderful building, constructed by a proud community who are very much part of London and Britain in the 21st Century. Open from 12 noon to 10 pm both days.
August 2010
21st to 30th August 2010 - August Holiday Family Fair in Finsbury Park
From August 21st right through to August 30th, and including Bank Holiday Monday, Carnival Funfairs held our annual Family Fair in Finsbury Park. Just a short walk from the station and with great bus routes just outside, this is a most popular event. The fair had special stewarding arrangements in place to guarantee public safety and if you have not visited Finsbury Park recently you should come and look at the way that Haringey have invested in this major park, so even though you missed our fair this summer visit the park and stroll in the autumn through this great London open space.
Open weekends 12 to 8 pm, weekdays through the holidays 2 pm to 8 pm.
For your safety there is a £1 entry to the fair, but for this you get two 50p money off tickets to use on the rides of your choice.
We will be back in Finsbury Park next Easter so if you missed us this year, make sure you don't in 2011!
1st to 25th August 2010 - Alexandra Palace Summer Holiday Fair
We will be be bringing a great value for money family fair to fascinating Alexandra Palace this coming school summer holidays, and whilst you must watch this space for more details as we finalise our plans, make sure you put this date in your diary and look out for the exact information a little later this year.
Alexandra Palace was the venue for the first ever BBC broadcasts in the days when programmes were dull and stilted, bit like now really though in colour of course (have you watched BBC 4 lately) and has a great pub and cafe and a magnificent entrance chamber to the building itself, so when you have had your fill of the fun we are offering, climb to the Palace and visit. You will be amazed at the beauty of the architecture.
September 2010
September 4th and 5th - Enfield Autumn Town Show - Back by popular request
Once again in Enfield Town Park, Enfield, EN2 6LE and open from 10:30 - 18:00 with a very reasonable entry fee, Enfield's biggest cultural event is back this Autumn! And the best news of all is that after a short break last year whilst the Council decided to see how the event ran without us (answer, well we are back already so what do you think?) Carnival Funfairs will once more be providing some superb attractions for all the family to enjoy.
In addition to us, this festival always delivers an amazing set of acts, activities and performances to keep the whole family amused! The Council website will at some time list all the attractions, but not quite yet I am afraid, but expect dancers from the many Enfield communities, arts and crafts, horticultural displays, and great music and performances from Enfield's best as well as international artists.
So join us in some autumn frivolity! (By the way, the image on this article is last year's poster so ignore the dates and come on 4th and 5th, and also, we were not there last year so we are sure this year's image will be of us!)
